Job Description

Calling all calm communicators who have an interest in transport operations, here is a unique opportunity to join our Network Support Centre!

Our Network Support Centre (NSC) is pivotal in keeping our urban bus drivers moving while they are out on the road and coordinating safe public transport systems for our team and their passengers. The NSC team have an operations focus and deliver accurate and real-time radio support to ensure the smooth operation of our public transport bus network.

This is a full time position which will operate on a 7 day rotating roster, based at our Lower Hutt Depot.

As a NSC Coordinator you will:

  • Support our drivers via radio to solve any on-road problems and queries to ensure the safe day to day delivering our transport services.
  • Monitor our Real Time Information (RTI) system to proactively resolve operational issues.
  • Manage our RTI system for regular reporting and data analytics.
  • Coordinate bus movements during major events, breakdowns, accidents, and traffic delays.
  • Work closely with our operations team to proactively manage our services, such as communicating changes and escalating ongoing issues that need attention.


Our urban bus network relies on the advice and communication from our network support centre to keep our services moving and operating efficiently, when an urban bus leaves the depot gates and returns, our NSC Coordinators are in control!

We are looking for:

  • Advanced communication skills, including verbal and written to clearly communicate concise information calmly.
  • An interest in the public transport sector
  • A skilled multi-tasker, with problem solving and decision making abilities.
  • Good computer skills and the ability to accurately record information in real time.
  • Able to apply and follow process steps; sometimes while operating in a time critical situation.
  • Strong time management and organisation.
