Interislander & Great Journeys New Zealand have ambitious growth targets. To enable our success, we have brought together the marketing and sales teams to create Kiwirail Passenger Marketing & Trade teams. We are seeking leaders with extensive experience, to be able to lead strategic growth that aligns with the business commercial goals.

The Head of Sales Passenger is responsible for leading the passenger trade sales and travel centre teams, driving the sales strategy across both Interislander & Great Journeys New Zealand international and domestic markets. This role ensures revenue growth through effective trade partnerships, B2B relationships, and retail sales while overseeing performance tracking, CRM management, and pricing strategies in collaboration with the revenue team. The Head of Sales Passenger plays a key role in ensuring KiwiRail’s passenger services are represented at trade events, expos, and industry forums, ensuring strong market positioning and sales success.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Developing and implementing passenger sales strategy targeting both international and domestic markets
  • Driving revenue growth; optimising pricing and sales performance and tracking sales performance and insights
  • Leading a number of teams ensuring their high performance and strategic alignments
  • Developing and maintaining strong domestic, trade partnerships and B2B relationships
  • Representing KiwiRail’s passenger services at expos and trade shows
  • Overseeing CRM strategies



Ngā pukenga e rapu nei mātou | What (skills) you will bring:

Knowledge and experience

  • You have 10+ years’ experience in sales leadership, preferably within travel, tourism, or transport sector
  • You have a proven track record in B2B and B2C sales growth
  • You understand trade partnerships, international retail sales, and pricing strategies
  • You have experience managing international sales representatives and trade events
  • You have experience creating strategic plans that align with business strategy and business goals
  • You are skilled in CRM management, performance tracking, and sales reporting

  • You have a current and valid NZ Driver's Licence


Qualifications

You have a degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience
You hold relevant industry certifications in sales, trade partnerships, or revenue management
