We are currently seeking for enthusiastic Catering Assistants to join our team at Victoria University of Wellington. The ideal candidates will have a flexible attitude and be prepared to work shift work as sites operate 7 days per week. This is a Casual Position where the working hours are "as and when required". The successful candidate must have the flexibility to work during weekends.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

  • Basic meal preparation - Cooking/Baking/Grilling
  • Re-stock and replenishing supplies
  • Providing a warm, friendly, welcoming and professional style of service to our residents
  • General cleaning of kitchen/front of house areas


He kōrero mōu / About you:

  • Be a team player but also able to work autonomously
  • Demonstrate previous experience in a similar role
  • Have a flexible approach and attitude
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • Be hard working
  • Be physically fit and reliable
  • Ideally hold NZQA Food Handling certificates Units 167 & 168
  • Have a safety focus and an awareness of health and safety practices and protocols
