This role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a large, dynamic organisation that plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety and wellbeing of New Zealand communities. The successful candidate will be part of the HR Business Projects Team, working on a range of complex projects concurrently. This role offers the chance to review and align HR policies with legislation and the Policing Act, ensuring compliance across all areas.

What you'll do:

As a Senior HR Policy Advisor, your role will be pivotal in reviewing and aligning our client's HR policies. You will work alongside a Senior HR Business Analyst, ensuring that all business processes and artifacts are in line with these policies. Your ability to manage relationships with operational staff will be key as you represent their views in policy development. With your professional approach, you will contribute your expertise to complex projects, demonstrating your ability to handle uncertainty and make critical decisions.

  • Undertake a comprehensive review of HR policies to ensure alignment and compliance with legislation.
  • Create a glossary of all terms and phrases used within HR policies.
  • Work closely with the Senior HR Business Analyst to ensure business processes and artifacts align with reviewed policies.
  • Apply professional approach to the programme of work.
  • Contribute professional expertise to complex, uncertain, critical or significant projects.
  • Manage relationships with operational staff and represent their views in the development of policy.
