Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished and strategic leader to join our team as the Lower South Regional Construction Manager. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to lead and inspire area-specific construction team in delivering projects across Otago, Central Otago and Southland. You will ensure excellence in quality, safety, governance, and project standards while driving financial performance and operational efficiency.

You will play a key role in fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement across the Lower South Region. Your ability to collaborate across multi-functional teams, cultivate strong client relationships, and manage resources effectively will be critical to your success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive business growth by identifying opportunities for revenue expansion and market presence in Civil Construction activities
  • Support operational teams with clarity on business planning and forward-looking strategies
  • Oversee financial and commercial aspects of projects, ensuring profitability and alignments with business goals
  • Ensure sound financial performance through rigorous project bidding, cost control, and contract management
  • Champion a safety-first culture by embedding Zero Harm principles in all activities

As an experienced Senior Construction or Project Manager, you’ll bring with you a proven record of putting people first through providing decisive and inclusive leadership to your teams and the wider business. You’ll also have:

  • Ideally you will possess a BE or NZCE equivalent qualification and/or over 5 years of civil project management/engineering experience
  • Strategic planning skills, focused on delivering BAU with excellence whilst growing our market
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to build and maintain relationships
  • A collaborative approach and ability to engage at all levels of the business
  • Demonstrated capability in financial and performance management
  • Extensive construction experience in delivering contracts including demonstrated capability in commercial acumen, project controls, programme management and resource planning.
