Job Description
Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
The Downer Transport & Infrastructure operation are proud to be delivering the SH1 maintenance and rehabilitation project, launched in September. This is an accelerated road renewal programme where 4 years of work will be delivered over a 16-month timeframe. This work will increase road user safety for years to come!

We currently have an opportunity for a true people person to join us as a Communication and Stakeholder Coordinator. You will be responsible for ensuring customer request management processes and systems are maintained for the duration of the project.

Your day to day will involve:

  • Stakeholder, customer, community communication, working with your team, to achieve positive outcomes for our customers and the network.
  • Facilitating ongoing delivery and monitoring Customer Service Requests (CSR)
  • Ensuring both contract and financial administration functions are carried out to a consistently high level of service
  • Timely communication to ensure the community is well engaged with and informed of upcoming works
  • Collation, monitoring and reporting of weekly, monthly and annual stats
  • Providing administrative support to project teams


This is a Full-Time, Fixed Term opportunity for 15 months, office based from either our Tirau or Taupo offices.

Your pleasant and friendly demeanour, highly organised approach and excellent communication skills will complement this role nicely. Your high level of professional personal presentation, can-do attitude and ability to learn new tasks will see you thrive. You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Proficient and experienced use of Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with great attention to detail
  • A passion for people & collaboration
  • A strong interest in customer communications with the ability to effectively partner both internally and externally, at all levels
  • The ability to show initiative and be innovative in your work approach is essential as is common sense and a sense of humour
  • The capability to analyse data and produce information and recommendations
