The ability to travel at times during the year is essential and you will need to be in good physical shape to tackle the demands of event days.

It is essential that you have the following experience:

  • A tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, event management or a similar field
  • 5+ years’ experience in events, project management, marketing, communications or public relations, ideally gained in a large or complex organisation.
  • A broad understanding of digital marketing and advertising, public relations, social media and web, best practice and trends and ability to incorporate these into marketing strategies.
  • Proficiency in web and event management digital systems (e.g. Squarespace, Eventbrite, Slido).
  • Competency in, or a desire and willingness to undertake professional development in, Te Reo Māori, Tikanga and Te Tiriti principles.
  • A current New Zealand Drivers Licence for the purpose of attending events, and meeting with sponsors and stakeholders.

And desirable to have:

  • An understanding of the public and/or education sector.
  • A strong relationship management background with experience delivering requirements for multiple brands under one parent sponsorship brand.
  • An understanding of paid advertising campaigns and experience working with partners to leverage advertising opportunities while complementing wider brand campaigns.
  • An understanding of design tools (InDesign, Figma) and experience using web platforms such Squarespace, Knack and Eventbrite.
  • Managed budgets for events and activities with an exceptional eye for detail.

If you have a proven track record in marketing, communication, event and relationship management – and you’re ready to make a real impact – we want to hear from you!
