Job Title: Senior Refrigeration Technician

Location: Grey Lynn, Auckland, New Zealand

With a strong reputation built on reliability and expertise, this company is expanding their team and seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Refrigeration Service Technician.

Job Description: As a Senior Refrigeration Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in organization by providing exceptional service to clients in the Auckland area. Your primary responsibility will be to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. You will also be responsible for mentoring and guiding junior technicians, ensuring the highest standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction are met.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers, freezers, display cases, and HVAC/Chiller systems.
  • Performing preventative maintenance tasks to optimize system performance and minimize breakdowns.
  • Collaborating with customers to identify their specific refrigeration needs and provide suitable solutions.
  • Mentoring and guiding junior technicians to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of service reports, equipment records, and parts inventory.
  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in refrigeration technology and industry best practices.


Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Refrigeration Service Technician in a senior or leadership capacity.
  • Trade certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (NZQA Level 4)
  • Full EST Practising License registered with EWRB
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems, including various types of compressors, condensers, evaporators, and controls.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex refrigeration issues efficiently.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions while adhering to established guidelines.
  • A commitment to providing exceptional customer service and exceeding client expectations.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
