The Company
My client is a privately held, well known company operating in the health sector. With more than 600 staff, the business is large and continues to go from strength to strength with a long-term focus on technology & providing their clients a superior service offering. Based in Newmarket, this is a business you can be proud to be part of as you are making differences to the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders. The role has arisen due to continued growth of their core businesses and associated portfolio. They have a large, non-hierarchal team structure with ample of opportunity to take on more responsibility over time. There is always something exciting happening.

The Role
This role will report directly to the Group Finance Manager and be part of a wider team who looks after various divisional business units. You will be responsible for the full month-end process, including financial reporting and variance analysis. Among your other responsibilities will include:

  • Monthly management reports, reconciliations, accruals and intercompany transactions
  • Weekly, monthly and annual reporting
  • Month-end close
  • Assist with preparation of statutory accounts, including IFRS reporting
  • GST, FBT and income tax
  • Fixed asset accounting and CAPAX management
  • Various other ad hoc tasks


Your profile:
To be considered for this role, we are looking for an experienced financial professional with at least 5+ years’ worth of financial accounting experience. You will have experience with IFRS. Most importantly, you will want to work in a collaborative team environment and have experience in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.

A CPA/CA or relevant qualification would be advantageous but comparable NZ-experience is more important. One thing that will help you to stand out is any relevant healthcare experience and a genuine desire to contribute to the positive health of all NZ’ers.
