Our client is seeking a seasoned Legal professional ready to take over as Head of Legal - General Counsel. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide strategic leadership, oversee financial performance, identify new business opportunities, and offer expert legal advice. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the Employment legal market and competitive landscape, with a proven track record in driving revenue growth and profitability.

As the Head of Legal - General Counsel, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic plan that drives the growth and development of the practice. You will oversee the financial performance of the practice, ensuring its profitability. Your role will also involve identifying and pursuing new business opportunities while building strong client relationships. Providing expert legal and employment relations advice to clients will be a key part of your role.

  • Legal Strategy and Compliance: Develop and implement the organisation's legal strategy, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations across all areas of operation.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential legal risks, providing proactive advice to minimize liabilities and safeguard the organisation's interests.
  • Contract Negotiation and Review: Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and review of key contracts and agreements, ensuring they align with the organization's objectives and legal standards.
  • Corporate Governance: Ensure effective corporate governance practices, advising the senior management on legal implications of business decisions and regulatory requirements.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and manage the legal team, providing mentorship, support, and resources to ensure the team effectively meets the company's legal needs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, , and business units, to address legal issues and provide strategic legal advice.


What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Head of Legal - General Counsel position brings a minimum of 10 years' experience in employment relations or legal practice. You have significant experience in either legal practice, consulting or professional services industry. Your track record showcases your ability to successfully drive revenue growth and profitability. You possess a strong understanding of the legal market and competitive landscape. Prior leadership experience in a law firm or professional services environment is essential.
