Job Description

As predicted, the third quarter of the year has blown up and experienced Registered Electricians are in high demand once again.

I am working with a valued client who has just secured a substantial number of Commercial contracts ready to kick off November/December 2022. Because of this, my client is in need of x2 Senior and Registered Electricians. You will be a pivotal member of the team with an element of responsibility in leading your team to service clients requirements as expected.

This company is involved in a wide variety of new build projects and service contracts within the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration sector including Supermarkets, Beer/Wine Cellars, Retail/Hospitality, Commercial Offices & Sports stadiums.

Your new role will include but not be limited to:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring & lighting systems
  • Commissioning new & reconditioned systems
  • Perform general electrical maintenance
  • Read an interpret schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Evaluate electrical as well as operational problems
  • Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices
  • Follow NZ Electrical code building regulations & law
  • Circuit breaker corrective maintenance
  • Good knowledge of various test equipment
  • Test & tag WRL & customer owned equipment when required
  • Installation of AC equipment (an advantage)
  • COC sign off
  • Pricing & quoting repairs & new installs
  • Mentor apprentices / trades people
  • Liaising with contractors re time frames & schedules


What do we need from you?:

  • Relevant Electrical Trade Qualification in Electrical discipline (NZQA Level 4 minimum)
  • EWRB Full Electrical Registration
  • Fully registered EST practising license (Registered with EWRB)
  • Eye for detail, expert in fault finding/diagnostics and experience with new installations as well as service/maintenance
  • BMS indolent, cabling and termination experience
  • Run the Daisey chain data cable to different devices back to a central computer
  • Understand that magnetic fields can corrupt data readings
