Are you an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about delivering services to clients in their own home and community?

This is a contracting position working in our well-established community-based rehabilitation team, managing a diverse case load across our ACC funded and private services.

The successful candidates will have an opportunity to be supported to develop into specialised clinical areas such as complex spinal cord injury, neuro rehabilitation, housing assessment, wheelchair and seating assessment and more.

About the role | He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga

This is an independent contractor position for a registered Occupational Therapist to join our team in the Gisborne region working across a number of clients and contracts. Being a community-based role, the successful candidate will be comfortable working in homes, community and workplace settings. You’ll have the opportunity to meet and work with people from all walks of life so someone who thrives in a people-based role will get a real kick out of the variety in this position!

We support clients’ return to optimal functioning and work, following injury or ill health so your broad experience would be valuable in this role.

What you will bring | Ngā tohungatanga mō tēnei tūranga

  • 2+ years experience as a NZ Registered Occupational Therapist. Additional support can be organised for the right applicant who are newer in the profession
  • Experience in community-based rehabilitation services.
  • Experience in housing assessment experience both ACC and Enable process.
  • Understanding of, and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Current NZ Registration with NZOT
  • Passion to continue to learn and grow
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • An awareness of Health Legislation and the NZ health funding systems
  • Ability to travel and work autonomously
