Job Description

Bayleys Canterbury is part of New Zealand’s largest full service real estate agency. Their four expert teams – Residential, Residential Property Management, Country and Commercial – have specialist expertise in marketing and managing property in Christchurch and Canterbury.

They are seeking a dynamic and experienced people leader to manage their collaborative Residential team in the Christchurch Central office. This well-established team thrives on strong referral opportunities, working alongside the region’s leading commercial, country and property management teams.

The exciting role will experience extensive support and assistance, backed by a strong, high performing Directors as well as Bayleys Head Office (based in Auckland). They will also work alongside other experienced Sales Managers in the Group.

The opportunity:

Reporting to the Director of Agency, the Sales/Branch Manager will be responsible for providing leadership, coaching, and compliance guidance to a high-performing and dynamic sales team.

Duties include:

  • Providing effective in-field support, leadership, coaching and direction to existing licensees.
  • Collaborating to assist our licensees to achieve their business plan and individual goals.
  • Focusing on compliance, industry regulation and the mandatory annual training required by all licensees.
  • Actively recruiting, on-boarding and coaching of new licensees into the business.
  • Achieving sales focused KPI’s including income budgets, campaigns, and companywide initiatives.
  • Identifying and capitalising divisional tactical marketing, sponsorship, and promotional opportunities.
  • Building effective client partnerships and existing developer relationships.
  • Working in collaboration with the wider sales management team.
  • Auction campaign experience, knowledge, and leadership.


There is a competitive remuneration package on offer – that comprises a competitive base salary, milage, phone, laptop and other paid expenses.

The ideal candidate:

To be successful in this role you will have your Real Estate Salesperson licence with proven outstanding leadership and management skills. Ideally, you will have (or be interested in obtaining) your Branch Manager’s licence. Great at building key relationships with clients and the community you will thrive in an environment that exceeds sales targets and budgets. Prior experience with contracts, AML, and legal compliance in a Real Estate environment is key.
Financially astute you will possess strong marketing skills and an understanding of database marketing and maintenance. Additionally, you will be a forward-thinking team member that shows initiative and communicates well.
