Job Description

About the role

Farmers with Halter are writing the playbook for a world-first farming system, they are paving a new way of managing their land and animals, and in doing so, are unlocking more productive and sustainable uses of the world's agricultural land along with driving optimal profitability outcomes.

Halter helps farmers to grow more grass and graze their land more efficiently while driving mating performance and monitoring every cow 24/7. We have removed many of the barriers farmers face on a day-to-day basis. Halter farmers don’t need to get up at 4am to get the cows in, put up a fence, measure pasture, or detect heats… they do all of this automatically and more proactively through the Halter App. They can schedule their mobs to meet them at the dairy for milking, run as many mobs as they want, and allocate precisely the right amount of feed. Welcome to farming with Halter!

We are searching for a tenacious sales hunter to lead Halter’s expansion in the Mid Canterbury market. Whether you’re new to sales, have some experience or vast experience, we’re open to people who are driven, have a passion for farming, driving meaningful change and possess strong emotional intelligence.

This is an opportunity to positively disrupt an industry and pioneer groundbreaking change on some of the highest-performing dairy farms. You will be leading the Mid Canterbury expansion for one of the world’s fastest-growing companies by helping equip farms with Halter technology that will transform the way they farm to become leaders in productivity and sustainability. You will be working closely with a passionate Customer team on the ground in the area and backed by a team of exceptional people at Halter’s Auckland HQ, to ensure this is the best & highest-impact job you’ll ever have.

This role would ideally be located anywhere in the Mid Canterbury region.

  • Passion, drive and energy: A natural sales hunter. Someone who is driven to exceed goals in a sales role. You should exhibit high energy, passion, and drive. This can come from your achieving excellence in a sport, your career, or other areas of your life. Examples of achieving high performance are what we’re looking for.
  • Strong Emotional Intelligence: You must have strong emotional intelligence, with clear examples of self-awareness and social awareness. You should be adept at picking up on cues and communicating effectively, navigating your own and others' emotions, challenges, and situations.
