We are looking for Production Chefs to be part of our team at Weir House in Victoria University of Wellington. This is a permanent full-time role with 30 hours per week and the successful candidate must be able to work during weekends.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

In this position you will be responsible for;

  • Assisting the Manager with the daily operation of the Kitchen.
  • Preparing, cooking and presenting food ensuring the quality of lunches we serve are of top quality!
  • Health and Safety is our number 1 rule, you will be an advocate and role model for safety in the workplace.
  • Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy.


He kōrero mōu / About you:

  • Reliable, flexible, hardworking and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a production kitchen environment
  • Hold food safety certificates (Unit Standard 167 & 168) and Level 5 Cookery qualifications
  • will form great rapport with suppliers, delivery personnel and kitchen staff.
  • will be great with numbers.
  • You must be confident with Microsoft applications and computer use.
  • will have a flexible approach and the ability to keep calm under pressure but most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for customer service and quality.
