Mō te Tūranga | About the role

As the Head of Transaction Monitoring and Sanctions you will lead the direction and development of Transaction Monitoring and Sanctions activities.

As a key member of the ASB FCO Leadership Team you will contribute to strategic decision making and leadership, you will drive collaboration, innovation and learning.

You will oversee the ongoing performance and development of the team, ensuring it meets organisational goals including SLA adherence and regulatory requirements by setting and managing targets and proactively managing workflows. You will create a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

You will lead Transaction Monitoring and Sanctions Senior Managers and their teams in investigating financial crime activities, working closely with other FCO teams.

You will develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external agencies including law enforcement agencies, regulators, and industry bodies. You will be able to influence at all levels and drive organisational change.

In order to succeed in this role, you will have strong project management skills, with experience leading complex, cross functional initiatives from conception to completion.

You will have an ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and drive organisational change, you will have a blend of strategic vision, technical expertise, and strong leadership skills to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.

You should have strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and drive decision making, including team performance and workflows. You should have the ability to understand complex business requirements and translate into operational processes.
