About the role We're seeking a talented Community Funding & Contracts Advisor to join our dynamic Connected Communities team at Hutt City Council. This full-time, fixed-term position (until October 2025) is based at Hutt Park. You'll work closely with local community groups and stakeholders, enabling greater access to funding and resources while making a meaningful impact in our community.
What you'll do
Manage Funds and Grants: Administer Council community funds and grants by assessing applications, managing contracts, maintaining the funding database, reconciling budgets, preparing reports, and evaluating the effectiveness of funded initiatives.
Community engagement: Provide advice and support to applicants, understand community needs, promote funding opportunities, lead funding forums, and facilitate training for community groups and committees.
Build partnerships: Collaborate with community groups and stakeholders to enhance access to funding streams, develop reporting and evaluation measures, and strengthen internal capability around community funding.
About you We're looking for a proactive, results-driven and adaptable individual with:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Proven expertise in relationship and stakeholder management
Solid experience in finance, administration, or contract management, ideally within a local or central government setting
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
A customer-focused mindset and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
