The Garden Fairies have been sprinkling fairy magic across West Auckland since 2009.

We currently look after 100+ gardens, mostly in the West Auckland area.

We are looking for another fairy gardener to join our team.

If you:

• have a passion for gardening - this is the most important !!
• enjoy a good level of physical fitness and have stamina
• have an eye for detail
• don't mind getting your hands dirty
• know the difference between a flower and a weed
• are confident with pruning and trimming
• can manage occasional lugging when we mulch gardens and top up garden beds
• have a good knowledge of plants, pests and diseases
• have a good general Health and Safety awareness
• are motivated, efficient and able to manage time effectively
• able to work independently as well as part of a team
• enjoy the satisfaction you will feel after a great days work in the garden
• have your own transport and tools
• reliable and flexible
• generally school hours only, would suit someone who is passionate about gardening, and has children to care for, - - could also suit someone without children who is wanting a lifestyle change.

This contract offers some flexibility around hours - mostly 9am start time, and finish time is usually between 2pm and 230pm on week days.

Flexible hours are on offer - we usually do a 25 hour week, however if you are needing up to 40 hours per week lets discuss. For parents, this is flexible as often school trips arise!

We work in most weather, however extreme weather of heavy rain, wind and hail is generally not conducive to neat and tidy weeding and tidying, therefore occasionally we do experience a ‘rain day’ or two - mostly in winter. We had 12 rain days over winter last year.

There is also optional occasional weekend work, usually carpark gardens or urgent pre-sale makeovers.

Communication is very important, and should you need the odd half or whole day, or later start, we can work with that.

All applicants for this position should hold NZ residency..

This is a contractor position, which means you will be responsible for paying your own taxes and ACC levies.

hnry.co.nz is a great way to start out, as this application covers any taxes etc you will need to put aside.

We can talk further about tools, as can supply and you can pay them off.

A garden fairies branded t-shirt is provided, and must be worn.

Remuneration depends on your knowledge and experience, and will be discussed on application.
