Domain Principal – Digital Platform and Crypto Asset reporting – International Revenue Strategy

We are seeking a Domain Principal to join International Revenue Strategy to lead our work in the field of automatic exchange of Digital Platform and Crypto Asset reporting.

Ara Whiwhi Mahi | The Opportunity
This role will be primarily tasked with ensuring that New Zealand meets its obligations with the implementation and ongoing compliance with two key automatic exchange regimes; Digital Platform Information (DPI) and the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF).

Working with the Domain Lead – International Transparency, this role will be responsible for:

• Providing expert guidance and ensuring the compliance of domestic customers with their due diligence and reporting obligations.
• Meeting our exchange of information requirements with our overseas treaty partners.
• Contributing to our responses to international peer reviews and monitoring of our international obligations with these regimes.
• Championing international tax transparency initiatives.
• Overseeing the effective use of DPI and CARF information to promote compliance.
• Providing guidance and leadership to other team members in IRS.

To be successful in this position you will possess the following capabilities:

• Strong understanding of the DPI and CARF regimes and how they fit into global transparency.
• Experience with the domestic due diligence and reporting requirements of automatic exchange of information (AEOI) regimes.
• Good understanding of international exchange of information frameworks and governance.
• Excellent customer advisory and stakeholder management skills with a strong focus on compliance outcomes.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to quickly adapt to different challenges and competing demands.
