About the role
The exact duties and responsibilities of this role will be shaped according to the level of successful candidate but essentially, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of your client's financial operations, including:
- Preparing annual financial statements, tax returns, GST reports, and other accounting documents for clients
- Offering accurate and timely financial and tax advice to assist clients in decision-making
- Engaging with clients to understand their long-term business goals and financial needs
- Identifying strategies to enhance financial performance and operational effectiveness
- Conducting research, analysing data, and providing solutions for accounting challenges to achieve optimal client outcomes
- Staying informed on the latest accounting standards and legislative updates
What you will bring
The ideal candidate will hold a relevant tertiary qualification with 3+ years' experience in public practice. You will possess strong technical accounting skills, including expertise in preparing financial statements, tax returns, and other accounting reports with excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities. Your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong client relationships and provide high-quality, commercially focused advice and support. In order to be considered for this role, you it is essential that you hold full working rights for NZ and will also be currently residing in Wellington.
