Are you an experienced Payroll Manager looking for your next contract opportunity?
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager who can start immediately to lead a payroll team of two for a key client of Madison Recruitment’s.
It is responsible for ensuring the seamless processing of payroll for over 1,000 employees – so this is a large and complex organisation.
About the Role:
As the Payroll Manager, you will take charge of end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will guide and support a small team while also managing payroll processes for a large workforce.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Oversee and manage the payroll function for over 1,000 employees
Lead and support a team of two payroll professionals
Ensure compliance with all relevant payroll legislation and company policies
Process payroll accurately and on time, handling any discrepancies efficiently
Work closely with internal stakeholders to provide payroll insights and reporting
Implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy
About You:
Proven experience in a payroll management role
Strong understanding of New Zealand payroll legislation and compliance
Experience managing a team and working with large payrolls
Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Experience with payroll systems – any exposure or experience with Workday would be wonderful
