To support us on our continued journey, we have available a 12-month fixed term maternity leave contract available, for a Financial Reporting Manager. The position reports into the Group Financial Controller with leadership responsibility of three staff. As a key role within the business, this position takes responsible for financial reporting including statutory and regulatory compliance, preparation of annual financial statements, managing the annual audit, preparation of technical accounting paper and providing advice to the wider finance team for any technical accounting matters.

More defined responsibilities will include:

  • Manage annual external financial reporting, delivered to a high standard of technical compliances.
  • Manage external audits / liaise with external regulators.
  • Provide technical accounting advice on the application of standards to new transactions and projects.
  • Ensure all tax compliance returns (RWT, GST, FBT and Taxation) are prepared accurately and on time.
  • Ensure all compliance and regulatory reporting are prepared accurately and on time.
  • Review the refund settlement statements for the residents and support Settlement Team as when required.
  • Review periodic management reports and analysis of results against budget/forecast/prior year and discuss key drivers of trends and variances with stakeholders including senior management.
  • Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are prepared accurately and on time.
  • Challenge current processes and implement efficiencies across Finance and the wider business.


About you

You will have a relevant tertiary qualification and professional membership (CAANZ/CPA) along with at least five years of significant financial reporting.

  • Technical accounting experience and knowledge applying IFRS to complex situations.
  • Experience with monthly management reporting, statutory financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and taxation
  • Proven people leader with a passion for developing talent and leading high performing teams that deliver on results while fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Experience working in high performing teams of individuals to consistently deliver high quality output within a professional culture.
  • Experience with monthly management reporting, statutory financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and taxation
  • Property development and/or retirement village industry experience desirable
  • Big 4 experience would be advantageous.
