We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to join our Global Transaction Banking Team to lead our efforts in identifying and securing new opportunities, driving growth, and ensuring that we continue to lead the market.

Te Tūranga | The role:

In this role, you will be responsible for balancing client needs and expectations with the risk and policy requirements of the Bank. Your expertise will enable you to challenge existing client systems and processes, identifying opportunities for enhanced automation and efficiencies that drive value for our clients. You will maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity, ensuring that our service delivery meets the highest standards.

A key aspect of your role will involve building Transaction Banking offers for prospects, effectively managing solution sets and resources across ASB. You will be tasked with maintaining a robust deal pipeline, ensuring the sustainability of new Transaction Banking revenue for the Bank. This requires not only strategic thinking but also the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of an organization.

As a senior member of our team, you will be expected to grow your capability and reputation within the New Zealand market. This includes identifying your own development needs and actively pursuing learning opportunities. You will also engage with key industry stakeholders and leaders in the New Zealand payments and fintech space, positioning yourself and our Bank as thought leaders in this rapidly evolving landscape.

To be successful in this role, you will come from a similar role within the banking sector with at least 5 years' experience in a sales manager capacity with a proven track record in building and maintaining quality client relationships. You will possess strong business development skills and are knowledgeable in transaction banking solutions and products with a history of successfully meeting stretch targets, demonstrating your ability to drive growth and revenue.

As a motivated team player, you will possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, along with keen attention to detail. Your strong analytical abilities will allow you to work autonomously and manage your time effectively, even under pressure. You will be adept at meeting deadlines while delivering high-quality results, and your excellent presentation and bid skills will help position our offerings competitively in the market.
