Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

At BNZ we're bringing to life our vision of how banking in the future will work for our customers. To do that we are seeking a talented UX Researcher to join our team in Auckland or Wellington.

As a UX Researcher, you'll play an integral part in leading and executing user research efforts across our teams. This role will see you using a mix of UX research methods from deep dive ethnographic interviews to usability testing. Effectively communicating your research findings and developments, you will be an ambassador for user centred design principles and best practice within the respected teams.

We spoke with our UX Research Director, who let us know the following about the role:

  • Create study plans for end-to-end research processes to meet user and business needs.
  • Organise participant recruitment for your studies and facilitation of sessions.
  • Practice end-to-end analysis and synthesis
  • Present your findings and insights to stakeholders both in written form and in person

What projects / work will the candidate be working on now and into the next year?

You will work closely with other UX researchers on team or individual projects, and development teams creating digital products across BNZ.

What will success look like for the candidate in this role?

Success will look like applying a mix of research practices to help design, content and product teams deliver excellent outcomes for customers and staff.

What is your favourite thing about working for BNZ?

Exploring and understanding our customers' needs and wants, and sharing evidence-based insights to help make sure BNZ is delivering the best possible digital experience for them.

What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?

You get to work with leading technology and design teams to deliver brilliant digital experiences!

What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?

We are looking for someone who has a true passion for customer research. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a User Experience, Customer Experience or Human Centred Design (HCD) role. Working with a range of research tools and methodologies, you will have the ability to work independently or collaboratively with a team.
