Job Description
Here at BNZ, it's about more than just banking. We work together in an agile, energising environment to create innovative solutions through our promise "If you can imagine a better future, let's find a way."
We support wellbeing, flexible working and have a generous leave offering. There is the opportunity for growth, learning and career development. No two days are the same.
As a Business Analyst within the Platforms domain, you will be working within one of our Hapu’s. This is a group of product teams that specialise either in operational security or server infrastructure. Our teams are split between Wellington and Auckland so we are open to either city for this role. We have hybrid working at BNZ and this means that you must be in the office three out of five days each week with one day fixed and other two flexible. The health insurance provided for BNZ is a great win for anyone with family.
If you are looking to get your foot into the product and agile space, then this Business Analyst role is a great opportunity to learn and use it as a stepping stone into the product space, so awesome career progression! Platforms is a busy domain, and we run the foundational technology for the other domains to consume. You need to be ready to hit the ground running and learn. Udemy online training services are offered through BNZ and to take advantage of these will be encouraged.
Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
We sat down with the People Leader (who you would report to) and they told us the following about the role:
What is the team culture and environment like?
The team culture in Platforms is incredibly supportive. We have very motivated teams that want to the best for our colleagues and customers. We are hardworking and it is nice to have some social aspects that you can opt in or out of depending on your availability and interest. BNZ offers some great facilities, such as parent rooms, gyms and café facilities.
What is your management style?
I start from a position of trust. I trust that you will ask for help when you need and will get on with the work without being chased. I am open to listening when you need a sounding board and provide support and instruction when you need it. I can be direct in my communication style. I need you to let me know when you cannot do something, either skill or time related. Honesty is preferred to give and receive.
What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?
This is a new role within Platforms so it is a great opportunity to make the role your own and help our teams be productive by keeping everything progressing. There is a heap to learn - we have a wide range of products that we support and are always learning. You can join us on our journey.
What technical skills are REQUIRED for this role?
- Documentation, clear and concise communication.
- Tracking work tasks on workflow boards such as MS Planner or Jira.
- Having a good understanding of Microsoft office tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Some basic knowledge around Agile working methods.
What will success look like for the candidate in this role?
As you will be supporting three product teams and one Platform Manager, you will have to keep track of multiple tasks. So keeping track of agile ceremonies, procurement support and Jira processes will be just a few areas that you will help with. The ability to build good rapport with our Product Leads, Product Manager and customers is essential!
Applications close at 11:59pm, Wednesday 29 January 2025.
