About the role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
Our service is an alternative to hospital admission, in a safe peaceful and supportive environment. We are a 6 bed acute respite service that support whaiora when in crisis. You will be supporting with medication, activities, engaging one on one with whaiora. You will be providing therapeutic interventions such as sensory modulation, mindfulness, goal setting, as well as taking whaiora to WINZ, bank, shopping etc.
You will be reporting to the Team Coach and joining our team of Support Workers – all with a common purpose of supporting people experiencing mental distress. Referrals come from community mental health teams during standard office hours.

This is a permanent, full-time role. You will be working 32 hours per week, Friday – Monday, 3pm – 11:30pm. Based in Onehunga, Auckland.

Responsibilities include:

  • Advocate and support people to be well and thrive.
  • Connect them with resources that support them in living well and assist them in building resilience
  • Help people connect with their communities, building the relationships that matter most
  • Foster positive change for a more positive life
  • Provide medication support for our people
  • Housekeeping


You | Mōu
We are interested to hear from people who have a caring nature and work in a recovery and strengths-focused way.

You will also have:

  • Current full driver’s licence
  • Current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one
  • Applicants must hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent.
  • Support Worker experience or similar
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the primary care sector
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
