About the company
Our client is a large government agency that is currently undergoing a complex digital transformation. By joining their mission, you will help safe guarding national data and information systems for the organisation.

About the role
This role is more than just managing databases; it’s about implementing innovative security solutions designed by Security Architects to ensure systems are protected against internal and external threats. You’ll directly contribute to securing one of the country’s most important data ecosystems, making an impact that truly matters. In particular, this Programme is implementing a Privileged Access Management (PAM) solution to enhance security across all critical data sets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of advanced security measures for Snowflake, SQL Server, and other platforms to safeguard sensitive health data.
  • Implement Privileged Access Management (PAM) and Identity Access Management (IAM) to restrict unauthorized access and ensure role-based permissions.
  • Apply encryption, masking, and tokenization to protect data at rest, in motion, and in use.
  • Configure Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) tools to detect and respond to anomalies and suspicious activities in real time.
  • Ensure Compliance: Align database security measures with industry specific frameworks and regulations, to meet and exceed compliance requirements.
  • Develop scripts and automation processes to streamline security operations, reducing manual overhead.
  • Work closely with the Security Architect to implement strategic security designs and coordinate with IT and DevOps teams to embed security into every phase of the data lifecycle.

What do you need?

  • Extensive experience managing and securing databases, with specific expertise in Snowflake and familiarity with other platforms like Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
  • Hands-on experience in database hardening, auditing, and monitoring.
  • Strong skills in scripting and automation, using languages like Python, SQL, or PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with securing cloud-native databases and services, especially within AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments.
