Job Description

Our Infrastructure Delivery team is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Construction Supervisors to oversee high-impact projects in the Pacific. This unique opportunity provides exposure to a significant project within the aviation sector, located in the Soloman Islands.



Downer is working on two airstrip terminal structures – one new build with high-spec finish and a reconstruct and extension to an existing structure. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Construction Supervisor will manage sub-contractors, ensure Health & Safety protocols are followed and retain programme integrity.

The role is Fixed-Term with projects expected to start in May 2025 and forecast to end in March 2026. The successful candidate/s will need to be available to work a 6 week on, 6 days off FIFO roster with flights, onsite single accommodation and meals included.

About you:

Suitable candidates for this role will have:

  • Trade qualified in construction-related fields
  • Experience in supervising high-spec projects preferably within a contracting organisation
  • Essential to have multi-discipline building experience and ability to oversee construction from ground up to final completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, coordinate and direct subcontractors and suppliers effectively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to Health & Safety best practices and initiatives
  • Proven success in delivering high-quality, productive, and safe work while maintaining environmental integrity
  • Previous experience working in remote, tropical locations and managing local subcontractors is advantageous
