Join us at the Kilbirnie Recreation Centre - where we offer affordable and accessible recreation and leisure opportunities that encourage participation and enhance the health and wellbeing of Wellington's communities.

We are a unique multi-use facility catering to many sport and recreation programmes, with an emphasis on wheels-based sports.

We currently have one permanent part-time Recreation Assistant vacancy. 20 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours. You must be available for weekend work. Hours and shifts to be agreed and discussed with the preferred candidate.

Our team is renowned for our programming with wheels-based activities like Skateboarding and Rollerblading. Our Recreation Assistants are also responsible for bookings, birthday parties, administrative duties and ensuring the facility is tidy and presentable, with additional opportunities to assist the Recreation Coordinators deliver children's programmes in after school programmes.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about the Sport and Recreation industry
  • Possess a customer focused and 'can do' attitude
  • Has great communication and people skills
  • Can work in a team and have fun
  • A wheels background would be advantageous but is not essential.


Ideally, admin experience, and experience working with children would also be helpful.
