Join Our Team as a SESTA (Specialised School Transport Assistance) Driver. Make a Difference in Your Community!

Due to growth and an increase in the number of students we transport, Cross Country Rentals is excited to offer a unique opportunity for individuals to join our team!

We have casual, on-call positions available covering the Hutt Valley and Porirua areas.

This role is incredibly rewarding and provides a chance to contribute to your local community by ensuring safe and reliable transport for students.

To Succeed in This Role, You'll Need:

  • Excellent Communication Skills - You'll enjoy interacting with people and making their day easier.
  • Physical Fitness - The role requires being physically fit to assist students as needed.
  • Enthusiasm & Patience - A caring, patient attitude is key to ensuring a positive experience for the students you're transporting.
  • Safe & Confident Driving - You must have a clean driving record and have held a full New Zealand driver's licence for at least 2 years.
  • Pass a Medical Check, Police Vet, and Drug/Alcohol Test


Holding a Passenger Endorsement is a plus but not essential to apply.
We'll support you in obtaining one if needed!

Cross Country Rentals is more than just a rental company having a wide range of vehicles in the fleet and providing specialised transport services. We are a kiwi, family owned and operated company with branches throughout New Zealand. Transporting people is extremely important to us, taking students to and from school. Supporting our local community is a big part of what we've been doing for almost 100 years! Our fleet has grown rapidly comprising over 2000 vehicles nationwide, from small cars to large trucks and everything in between.
