Due to an internal promotion, we currently have a unique opportunity for an experienced banking professional to progress their career in an equally challenging yet rewarding role, where you will lead, coach, and develop a team of Commercial and Business Partners.

We sat down with our Head of Commercial, Agri & Business, who let us know the following about the role:

What does a day in the life of a Senior Partner look like?

  • Working closely with the Head of Commercial, Agri & Business to develop and implement annual business plans and market strategies which promote the growth of BNZ Partners market share.
  • Ensuring Partners understand their roles and what is required to achieve success through constructive performance conversations.
  • Encouraging knowledge transfer / best practice / leverage of experience, to improve the overall achievement of the Partnership and Regional teams.
  • Maintaining the credit quality of the lending book of the team through the assessment of lending proposals, analysing financial information, and agreeing lending proposals in consultation with Credit.
  • Complying with external legislation, bank standards and internal operating policies and procedures relevant to the position.


What is the team culture and environment like?

You will be leading a team of Partners and Associate Partners across the Northland region. This is a diverse role with a team of both fresh new faces and BNZ veterans. It is a fast-paced environment, so if you enjoy prioritising, being focused and working as part of a high performing team then this is the opportunity for you.

What attributes will this person have in order to be successful?

We are looking for a proactive self-starter with excellent communication skills, who is able to challenge the status quo to improve the effectiveness and the efficiency of the team.

A key requirement is to have a deep knowledge of financial products and services, along with strong technical capability and a passion for helping people reach their potential. You will also have a proven track record of leading a team, preferably gained within a customer facing environment within the financial services industry.
