We are recruiting for a dynamic Digital Manager to lead one of three portfolio teams, providing leadership and effective management of a cross-functional team. In this role, you will oversee creating and delivering innovative, customer-centric digital solutions while managing the content lifecycle. Collaborating with key stakeholders, you’ll ensure all solutions meet customer needs, align with strategic and operational standards, and deliver high-quality outcomes, including self-service options where possible.

Key responsibilities include

  • Maintaining the integrity of website information architecture and metadata, optimizing content for SEO, and ensuring compliance with guidelines, legislation, and best practices.
  • You will champion a collaborative, innovative culture within the digital team, driving improvements and enhancing customer experiences.
  • This role also involves fostering knowledge sharing across teams and engaging staff to promote innovation. If you have a background in digital or communications, alongside proven leadership skills, this could be the opportunity for you.

He kōrero mōu: About you
We are looking for a skilled Digital Manager with a strong background in the digital industry and proven leadership experience. You should ideally have a tertiary qualification in communications, social sciences, or related fields, along with a business or people management qualification plus 9+ years of experience in the digital sector, including 5+ years leading technical specialists in customer-facing or operational roles. Expertise in information architecture, usability, user experience, and web-based technologies such as HTML, CSS, CMS, SEO, and Adobe Experience Manager is essential, as well as substantial experience using Microsoft applications and influencing decision-making processes.

Furthermore strong collaboration and interpersonal skills are key, with a proven ability to assess customer and business needs and work effectively with stakeholders to achieve objectives. A solid understanding of the New Zealand Government Web Toolkit, WCAG 2.2 standards, user-centric design principles, and writing for web and mobile platforms is required. If you are an experienced leader with a passion for delivering customer-focused digital solutions, this is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
