Principal Advisor - Commercial Property Advisory Permanent position Wellington based
Ara Whiwhi Mahi | The Opportunity In this position you are responsible for ensuring that IR’s property portfolio and facilities are fit for purpose, meeting all security, health and safety, legislative requirements, emergency preparedness, building management, tactical asset management and contract management for property and building services.
You will ensure IR has a property portfolio that reflects the size and shape of our organisation and a workplace environment that is secure, safe, healthy and productive.
IR’s new Common Service Model reflects our consistent way of delivering services across Enterprise Services to ensure we deliver a better experience for all our people. Our services and ways of working should make it easier for our people to do the right thing and know where to get support if they need it.
In this role you will
Influence the organisation, including advising executive management and senior leaders, to optimise the value from the operation of our supplier management framework.
Effectively manage suppliers and partnerships to drive the right business outcomes.
Develop, implement, and manage new approaches to working with suppliers
Apply and realise strategies
Use performance and capability information and policy to drive innovation

Management of a large government property portfolio
Strategic thought leadership and planning for property space/workplace optimisation and asset management
Successfully working with GPG, other agencies, senior leaders, and possessing strong influencing, negotiating, and persuading skills
Familiarity with relevant commercial property legislative and regulatory requirements
Working in a flexible and agile environment with a positive response to change
Leadership of cross functional teams with a customer focus and drive for continuous improvement
