Are you passionate about driving excellence and continuous improvement? We're looking for a dynamic Team Leader to spearhead our Senior Advisors in Complaint Management, spread across the motu.

In this pivotal role, you'll lead and inspire a team dedicated to assessing, reviewing, and managing complaints. You will collaborate closely with the Manager of Feedback and Complaints to ensure seamless and consistent service delivery nationwide. This role champions a strong service culture and drives excellence in feedback and complaints response, while seeking and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement in our integrated feedback and complaints service.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

Key requirements of the role include:

  • A recognised qualification or studies/papers completed in social work (ideal) or related fields such as psychology, education, social work, nursing, management, business administration, sport and recreation management, or other related fields
  • Demonstrated experience in leading high-performing teams and managing multi-disciplinary teams within social services, particularly in Oranga Tamariki or similar organisations.
  • In-depth knowledge of contemporary issues in social services delivery and a strong understanding of statutory obligations and the State Sector environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise diverse stakeholder demands, and maintain excellent service focus with a commitment to quality and risk management.
  • Strong background in process planning, setting up efficient systems, and developing, preparing, and monitoring service delivery performance measures.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences and build strong rapport.
  • Deep understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural issues, particularly tikanga Māori and Pacific Peoples' culture, along with empathy for working with children and young persons.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, including engaging and inspiring staff, developing their skills, providing quality assurance, managing performance, and fostering a positive team culture.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, including conflict resolution, risk management, and maintaining performance under stress, with a commitment to positive outcomes for children, young people, and their families.
