Mō te tūranga | About the Role
The Manager External Reporting Funding Programmes is part of the External Reporting team within Finance at Westpac New Zealand.

The role is responsible for ensuring the quality and timely delivery of all Finance aspects of Westpac New Zealand funding programme artefacts, including offering memorandums and associated documents. This includes close co-ordination with Treasury and Treasury Legal, teams within Finance and certain other teams across Westpac New Zealand.

This role is also covering subsidiary financial reporting and control responsibilities until December 2025, which includes financial reporting for non-bank Westpac entities in New Zealand as well as reporting to subsidiary board of directors and other financial control activity.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of the end-to-end Finance aspects of funding programme update project management, including close co-ordination with Treasury and Treasury Legal.
  • Proactive and early planning, including building timeframes, organising review times and engaging stakeholders.
  • Coach and develop direct report(s), including maximising their utilisation across both funding programme updates and other external reporting deliverables.
  • Support other areas of external reporting outside of key funding programme update periods, including the production of Disclosure Statements during peak April and October periods.
  • Support Finance-wide projects.
  • Owning subsidiary financial reporting and control responsibilities until December 2025.


Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

  • Extensive working experience in accounting, preferably reporting and be familiar with the banking industry
  • Qualified CA or equivalent
  • Project management
  • Strong written and verbal communications to senior manager level
  • Direct people leadership
  • Knowledge of funding programmes such as US144A (Preferred)
  • Experience with Workiva software (Preferred)
