Discover a fulfilling opportunity to work in a child-focused learning environment with a warm and supportive team at Grey Lynn Kindergarten. As part of Ngā Tamariki Puāwai o Tāmaki | Auckland Kindergarten Association (AKA), we have a rich history in Early Childhood Education since 1908.

About Us:

At AKA, our commitment is to provide a safe and enriching early childhood learning environment. Our 107 kindergartens, four KiNZ centres, and a network dedicated to building the foundations for a lifetime of learning. Embracing a bicultural environment with Te Whāriki as our learning framework, we prioritize the well-being of tamariki, parents, and whānau.

About Grey Lynn Kindergarten:

Grey Lynn Kindergarten is based within a beautiful, heritage building that is surrounded by mature and well-established gardens, simply an oasis in Central Auckland.

We are proud to have been part of the Enviroschools Programme since 2006. The Enviroschools philosophy is strongly embedded into the culture here at our kindergarten. Our commitment to environmental sustainability runs through everything we do.

The Role:

We are seeking a vibrant and enthusiastic Teacher Aide to join our dedicated team on a permanent, part-time basis (10 hours per week). Your role will involve assisting the teaching team in maintaining a beautiful learning environment, supporting routine activities with the tamariki, and ensuring resources are organised. We value energy, initiative, flexibility, and strong ICT skills to support documentation preparation.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in working with young tamarik, preferably in a Kindergarten or Early Childhood Education setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to listen, explain, and build positive relationships.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, tolerance, and perseverance are essential qualities.
  • Commitment to delivering a high-quality AKA Kindergarten service aligned with our philosophy of learning through play.
  • Team player with attention to detail, confidentiality, and an understanding of AKA's mission and values.
