Our Digital Innovation team works within Smart Council to make Council services and technology better for the people that use them. They deliver people focussed projects and improvements, through collaborating with other teams and ensuring diversity of thought aided by design thinking.

As our new City Innovation Lead, you'll be at the front of embedding innovation and identifying opportunities in projects and initiatives to improve outcomes focussing on council's strategic priorities. Supported by the Digital Innovation team, you will manage the product vision, strategy, roadmap and lifecycle of some of Smart City technology.

You will work with other WCC business units team to deliver rapid and sustainable innovation, investigate solutions and generate ideas that can be applied to improving council's ability to develop and manage our city and provide valuable services to our communities.

You'll be experienced with project management, technology, and how to devise products and solutions with internal and external teams. Experience in workshop design and facilitation and applying innovation concepts and methodologies, such as design thinking, agile, sprints, ideation will come naturally to you. You'll know how to work with enterprise data experts and be familiar with project management and agile product development techniques.

Remuneration for this role is $98,888 - $116,338 and appointment in band will be based on prior skills and experience offering.

About you
You will be comfortable with ambiguity, and confident in your programme management skills to drive and challenge traditional thinking in a Digital setting. You'll use a blend of technical and service design skills to ensure your projects are user focussed and future proof.

You can present your ideas to a variety of stakeholders, work well in cross functional teams and are excited about learning about new subject areas. You keep people at the heart of what you do and connect with others to support the Council to achieve its vision and priorities.

A bachelor's degree and or a minimum five years' experience working in the innovation sector or in a multi-disciplined environment along with Project Management certification or demonstrated experience in designing and delivering programme of work from conception will be required for this role.
