Job Description

BestStart Jones Crescent Kindy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified and Registered Teacher to join our passionate, long serving team. Our focus is to provide quality education to the children in our community.

From the street we may look like a regular kindy but we are a hidden oasis of nature. With our orchard as our muse, we find ways to incorporate nature into all of our classrooms throughout the centre, we have an indoor, outdoor flow of natural resources and activities. There is as much to treasure in nature as there is to treasure in each child in our care. Just like the diversity of nature each child brings something unique and valuable to our learning community.

This is a permanent part-time position working 24 hours per week.

Role requirements:

Commit to making a difference in the lives of young learners with a team dedicated to excellence.

We are looking for the following:

  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE or Primary) and current teacher registration/certification
  • Good understanding of child-led curriculum, planning and extending on our children's learning
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard
  • A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through pedagogical practices
  • Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
