The opportunity
An exciting position has become available for a talent coordinator to join our national people and culture team, reporting to the national talent attraction specialist. This is a dynamic and rewarding position, supporting us to create an environment where our people thrive and are able to deliver on our strategy of helping our clients be part of a more successful Aotearoa.
As the talent coordinator, you will play a key part in all things talent at the firm, both for our existing people, those soon to be joining and anyone who may be considering joining us in the future. The role has a unique mix of recruitment, early career, talent development, programme coordination, event planning, communication, and stakeholder engagement internally and externally. You'll be a people person, getting in front of people and building relationships is a key part of this role. Your main responsibilities will be coordinating our high profile annual graduate recruitment programme, supporting our national talent attraction specialist with general recruitment needs and coordinating talent development for our people. This role is based in our Auckland office but will have a national lens.
More about the role
The position goes beyond administration and coordination - you will be involved in the detail of recruitment assignments, talent projects and activities that enable our people to be the best they can be. Each day will be different, but at a high level you will be involved with:
- Graduate recruitment – coordinating meetings, interviews, events, university partnerships and student groups including maintaining effective relationships with these key partners
- Business as usual recruitment – being part of or managing end to end recruitment for the firm (with training and support from the talent attraction specialist)
- Ensuring successful implementation of our annual summer clerk and law clerk programme
- Induction/onboarding planning for new starters
- Coordinating and organising office wide events
- Supporting our people and culture team on firm wide programmes and initiatives
- Assisting with general administration and coordination, including covering for our national people and culture coordinator when required.
What matters to us

- Ideally have some part time or full time work experience where you have touched on recruitment or HR practices (this is desired, but not essential)
- Potentially have, or are studying towards a relevant tertiary qualification in HR, psychology, law or another relevant field of study (noting that this is a full time role)
- Have a passion for talent development, talent acquisition, graduate recruitment and generalist HR
- Be tech savvy with the ability to pick up and learn new systems easily
- Enjoy working in a dynamic environment where there are multiple priorities and numerous touchpoints
- Be highly organised, have a can do attitude and able to manage your time effectively
- Love to communicate – you'll be doing this verbally and in writing with a range of audiences
- Have a positive, solutions focused mindset with great attention to detail and proactivity.
