Job Description

We're gearing up for our busy season and are putting together motivated teams to start at our Horotiu processing facility near Hamilton to help get NZ Beef from our backyard to customers plates.

Breaking down a full carcass to individual portions is an art form, requiring skill and a strong attention to detail. AFFCO offers challenging work in great team environment with the understanding that our employees help to shape the future for our business and our industry.

Working 30 – 50 hours per week, weekly earnings fall between $889.80 - $1700 per week, dependent on hours worked, attendance and productivity.

Qualifications

As a skilled Meat Process Worker, you will have had six months experience using knives or working with meat products. While not required we will give preference to any applicants that holds a New Zealand meat processing qualifications or a recognised equivalent.

We can even help you gain a New Zealand Apprenticeship in Export Meat Boning (Level 4), or New Zealand Apprenticeship in Slaughter Operations (Level 4) or New Zealand Certificate in Meat Processing and Meat Product Manufacturing (Level 4) with strands in Slaughter Floor Operations and Dressing Operations.

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for a lot of duties including:

  • Bone or slice high value, quality beef into primal cuts for further processing or packaging for both local and export commercial or wholesale use.
  • Taking pride in their work with strong attention to detail and the ability to listen and follow directions.
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, mesh safety equipment) as provided by the Employer.
