Job Description
Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
Downer is seeking a dynamic and proactive Customer and Stakeholder Manager to join our team in Gisborne. This role is critical in ensuring that our maintenance and construction activities cause minimal disruption while fostering strong relationships with customers, businesses, retailers, the Gisborne District Council (GDC), NZ Transport Agency (NZTA), and other key stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will champion customer engagement, drive effective communication strategies, and uphold the Downer brand through strategic advertising, promotion, and community engagement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and implement the Contract Communication Plan to enhance stakeholder relationships.
- Manage and oversee stakeholder engagement coordinators within client organizations.
- Maintain and enhance customer satisfaction by minimizing disruptions caused by maintenance activities.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and effective communication within the team.
- Provide customer support during significant operational events impacting service delivery.

- Relevant qualification or experience in customer and stakeholder management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven track record in delivering exceptional customer service.
- Strong relationship management and negotiation skills.
- Experience with CRM and RFS systems is essential.
- Ability to multi-task under pressure and respond proactively to changing circumstances.
