About the Company and Role:

Our client is part of a well-known ISP in New Zealand who believes in their people and through their growth have continued their focus on culture, development and of course some great benefits in there too!

Collaborate with a diverse, close nit team and contribute to managing and maintaining core network infrastructure. This role is part of a small team of a Network Architect, DevOps Lead and Engineers, Voice Engineer and Junior Network Engineer and has the opportunity to be exposed to a range of projects within data centres, networks and infrastructure. This role reports to the Head of DevOps.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage core network infrastructure
  • Monitor networks and troubleshoot escalated issues
  • Work on migration and maintenance of a new data centre
  • Design and build Ad Hoc solutions for customers
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to plan and execute network upgrades and expansion projects
  • Share shifts on the On-Call roster (approximately on a 5 week cycle)
  • Skills and Experience:
  • 4+ years experience working as a Network Engineer
  • Experience within a telecommunication company/ ISP
  • Expert knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, routing, and switching
  • Understanding of DevOps teams and their practices
  • Experience working with Juniper/Cisco/Mikrotik is preferred
  • Experience with Linux and network troubleshooting on a Linux based host.
  • Knowledge on RADIUS Accounting systems would be a bonus!
