Job Description
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The Campaigns and Marketing Communications Advisor will play a pivotal role in the planning, developing and executing innovative marketing and communications strategies.

The main aim will be focussed on retaining students, removing barriers to academic success, and assisting students to maximise non-classroom dimensions of the University experience. Specifically, the role will be working to create and implement a variety of in-house campaigns as well as help with other marketing and communication strategies, ensuring all activities align with the University’s brand, values, and strategic objectives, such as end-to-end services for the planning, strategy and creative development, and execution and assessment of all ongoing, annual and sales/enrolment-based marketing campaigns needed to meet the goals of departments across the Campus Life division

Representation of the University at a range of on campus and domestic events will/may be required and you will need to have flexibility to attended events if required, that may be held in the evening and/or weekend work.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced marketing professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is passionate about leveraging marketing communications to drive engagement and achieve measurable outcomes.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent position.

The salary is between $72,000 – $84,709 per annum, depending on skills and experience

The Campaigns Marketing team is part of Campus Life Communications and Marketing and delivers on recruitment, awareness and engagement campaigns for Campus Life portfolios. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality marketing efforts that support the work of our stakeholders and contribute to student success outside of the classroom.

He kōrero mōu | About you

Our ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of strategic, creative, and analytical skills, along with a deep understanding of brand management, audience engagement, and campaign execution.

You will be proactive, confident, highly detail oriented and a true team player, along with excellent communications and time management skills. Having a strong focus on relationship building and stakeholder management with proven experience working in/with an advertising, marketing, and public relations agency.

You will be someone who likes to stay ahead of emerging trends in marketing communications and industry best practices to drive innovation and ensure campaigns are always cutting-edge.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years’) in campaign development, marketing communications, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and a track record of delivering successful, results-driven campaigns.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft persuasive and engaging content.
  • Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail and design.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of analytics tools and experience in data-driven decision making.
  • Experience in managing multi-channel campaigns across digital, print, social media, email, video, and events.
  • A good understanding of Microsoft Suite, CMS systems, digital advertising tools, and analytics platforms is essential.
