About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our clinical leadership team as a Unit Coordinator for the serviced apartment at our Possum Bourne Retirement Village. This is a fixed term role working Sunday to Thursday 0800 - 1630 from the 15th December - 25th May.

As the service apartment Unit Coordinator, you will use your nursing and people skills to:

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to your team, ensuring care is always "good enough for mum and dad"
  • Foster the Ryman culture which promotes a safe and enjoyable work experience for your team
  • Ensure all care is continuously assessed, planned, implemented, and evaluated to meet the needs of each resident within the service apartment
  • Actively engage with resident's families/whānau, visitors, Allied Health Professionals, and District Health Boards, creating lasting relationships
  • Perform and support your nursing team to conduct interRAI assessments
  • Intermittently provide additional time outside rostered hours to attend events, support team members or residents and families as needed
  • Dedicate quality time with your team, including flexibility of rostered hours on different shifts to connect with all team members within the unit
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with your team that promotes respect and trust
  • Participate as a positive and trusting member of a team that works together as one

Provide support to your Clinical Manager and Village Manager

About You
To thrive in our supportive and caring environment you will have:

  • A current APC (annual practising certificate)
  • interRAI training or willingness to gain competency
  • Extensive experience as a Senior Registered Nurse or Nursing Leader
  • The ability to lead, share knowledge and motivate your team
  • Kindness, compassion, and drive, to deliver exceptional care to our residents
  • Flexibility to share responsibilities of the on-call component with other Unit Coordinators as per a roster coordinated by the Village Manager
