Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

Te Tumu Herenga | Libraries and Learning Services is looking for two exceptional people to join our team in the Tai Tonga South Auckland Campus. There are Student Hubs across our campuses, and they are the physical gateway to the University providing a welcoming, friendly, and mana-enhancing support and advice service for future and current students.

We deliver a convenient and unified experience through the provision of mainly in-person services across all areas of being a student, supported by extended operating hours and cross-trained team members. Our services include guidance and advice on being a student, navigating the University, exploring study options, applying, programmes and courses, progression support and planning, learning support and information, Library and IT student services, and wellbeing, engagement, and employability services.

These are both permanent roles, one a part time, and the other a full time, with a salary range of $55,300 - $60,000 depending on skills and experience.

The shift pattern for the part-time role is:

Monday 12pm - 8pm (7.5hrs)

Tuesday 4pm - 8pm (4hrs)

Wednesday 4pm - 8pm (4hrs)

Thursday 4pm - 8pm (4hrs)

Sunday 9am – 5pm (7.5hrs)

The shift pattern for the full-time role is:

Tuesday 12pm - 8pm (7.5hrs)

Wednesday 12pm - 8pm (7.5hrs)

Thursday 12pm - 8pm (7.5hrs)

Friday 12pm - 8pm(7.5hrs)

Saturday 9am - 5pm (7.5hrs)

This means you can demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, IT and customer service skills, along with the ability to interact with people from various backgrounds. Your passion for great customer service is demonstrated in the pride you take in your work, and your ability to exercise good judgement when it comes to effectively identifying their needs and resolving or escalating queries.

To be successful in this role, you will display excellent leadership skills, communication skills, a helpful and supportive approach, excellent IT skills, and the ability to excel when working independently, and as part of a team. This role includes supervising a team, so delegation of work, and passion in leading a team is beneficial.

As we are a large and complex organisation, relevant experience in the tertiary sector will be considered favourably or experience in a similarly complex environment.
