Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Steward Consultant to join our team. As a senior member of the Data Stewardship Chapter, you will provide technical and data governance implementation consultancy and data leadership to projects and change programmes. You will work with change managers and data stakeholders to understand the impacts on critical data elements (CDEs) from new projects and be a trusted advisor and data advocate, helping the organisation to achieve the best data outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and data management implementation consultancy and data leadership to projects and change programmes.
  • Work with change managers and data stakeholders to understand the impacts on critical data elements (CDEs) from new projects.
  • Document critical data elements, including data quality requirements, standards, and business rules.
  • Implement CDEs (including lineage, controls, and data quality rule creation) required as part of change and projects.
  • Collaborate with Data Management Office colleagues, being an example of 'what good looks like'.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the Data Management policy, controls, and tooling used in the delivery of Data Stewardship at ASB.
  • Drive the weekly data governance meetings and chair the weekly iCIA meeting in the absence of the Data Stewardship Chapter Lead.
  • Support the Data Stewardship Chapter Lead in the ongoing management and operation of the chapter, ensuring work quality, consistency, and simplicity.
  • Engage with projects and change owners to ensure best practice Data Governance and Data Risk Management activities are implemented.
  • Lead the ongoing education of the ASB community in matters relating to data governance.
  • Support and participate in the management of relationships with key business stakeholders to understand and document their data needs.
