The Company

A real NZ success story. This business started in a garage 20 years ago and has now grown to a $40m business operating primarily in NZ and Australia. They have several instantly recognisable products. With a small and tight knit team, they are looking for a contract Assistant Accountant to join the team on a 3-month basis. They have modern offices with parking available.


The Role
As the Assistant Accountant you will report to the Financial Controller, working in a wider team of 5. This is an opportunity to take ownership of the reporting functions, and assist the team with month-end duties.

Your duties will include:

  • Assisting with the month-end including journals, accruals, pre-payments and reconciliations
  • Balance sheet and P&L reconciliations
  • Maintaining monthly reports and analysis e.g P&L, trade spend percentage etc.
  • Ad-hoc analysis for monthly board report
  • Generating monthly reports
  • Ad-hoc duties as requested


Your profile:
We are looking for a candidate with a can-do attitude who has experience working in a medium sized organisation and who has taken ownership of the monthly reporting functions. You will be happy to roll up your sleeves and assist with the month-end process and you will have strong excel knowledge being comfortable with Vlookups and pivot tables.

Strong communication skills is a must, as is your ability to build strong relationships and partner across the business, you will be flexible in your approach and be capable of taking the initiative in new situations. Good opportunity to gain experience in a forever growing name in the FMCG industry.
