About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join Ryman's Bob Scott Retirement Village, in Lower Hutt, as a Senior Lead Chef (Head Chef). This is a Full-Time role working Sunday to Thursday 0800 - 1700.

In this role you will:

  • Lead, motivate and inspire the kitchen and cafe team to deliver a dining experience that's 'good enough for mum or dad '.
  • Prepare delicious meals from our seasonal menus, rich in variety, flavour and nutrition.
  • Develop menus and create specialty food for fine dining experiences and functions.
  • Manage rosters, support menu development, trial new recipes and cater to different dietary needs.
  • Operate with health and safety as a key consideration at all times.


About You
To thrive in our environment you will have:

  • Extensive experience as a Head Chef, leading a team and running a kitchen catering for large groups or functions
  • Outstanding communication skills with a reliable, approachable and professional manner
  • Hold a qualification in Cookery or equivalent
