About the role
Shopify’s Revenue Operations Team ensures that our sales organization is highly-productive and effective. The Revenue Operations Incubation Team supports our new products, experimental motions and incubation ideas – Delivering end-end sales cycles, from early sales strategy to scaled go-to-market execution.

The Sales Incubation Lead will contribute to sales experimentation strategies that lead to optimal sales approaches and proven execution excellence. You will lead a team of Incubation Sales Executives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of sales incubation strategies.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and manage a team of Incubation Sales Executives, monitoring performance against key sales metrics, goals and objectives
  • Coach, mentor, and guide the team in developing consultative and solution-based sales skills
  • Develop and maintain full-cycle sales activities; prospecting, client interaction, and negotiations.
  • Partner with Senior Leadership to develop the long-term vision and strategy for the team
  • Work with Director, Sales Incubation to design, advocate for and execute rigorous tests in a sprint-like format
  • Understand, develop and communicate current and emerging product value propositions.
  • Evaluate sales experiments and provide data driven insights that allow Shopify to deliver a smoother motion from product to go-to-market allow us to grow revenue more efficiently and scale faster
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including product, legal, and operations to ensure successful execution of incubations.
  • Advocate for experiments by providing continuous feedback and data points to senior stakeholders.
  • Summarize and present program results to senior stakeholders, informing future revenue and product strategy
  • Foster a culture of experimentation within the Sales Incubation team


Qualifications:

  • You are a Senior Sales leader who can define and execute on experimental sales strategies and activities; driving impact through bold and creative selling techniques, leadership and collaboration in large sales organizations
  • You have demonstrated ability in increasing throughput by developing processes that land, learn and refine themselves whilst still delivering on ambitious revenue targets
  • Throughout your career you have led collaborative and effective teams that partner with merchant-facing sales, product leaders and other revenue operations teams
  • You are a builder at heart who can galvanize a team by being hands-on and deeply understand the complex nature of a diverse sales organization serving multiple size merchants across many product offerings
  • Excellent organization skills, communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • You are data driven using insights and analytics to measure success, improve program impact and solve problems.
