Job Description
SPM Malvern, a New Zealand owned, meat processing company has 50 openings at our Processing plant located in Burnham for Experienced Meat Process Workers.

Working a minimum of 30 hours per week you will generally complete 8-10+ hours a day, 5-6 days a week, hiring for day and night shift.

Qualifications
As a skilled Meat Process Worker, you will have had six months experience using knives or working with meat products. While not required we will give preference to any applicants that holds a New Zealand meat processing qualifications or a recognised equivalent.

We can even help you gain a New Zealand Apprenticeship in Export Meat Boning (Level 4), or New Zealand Apprenticeship in Slaughter Operations (Level 4) or New Zealand Certificate in Meat Processing and Meat Product Manufacturing (Level 4) with strands in Slaughter Floor Operations and Dressing Operations.

Applicants will be considered for any production vacancy in any department with opportunities to upskill and earn more. Specific department and schedules will be discussed during the interview process to find the right position based upon your interests and skills

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for a lot of duties including:

  • Safely using sharp knives, and other equipment
  • Standing for up to 8 hours.
  • Lift or move boxes at a minimum weight of 20kg
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, mesh safety equipment) as provided by the Employer
